Cornell REU (Summer 2012)

Here is a link to a more descriptive webpage I created for the project: http://www.math.cornell.edu/~agma/index.html

About:

I Worked work for Professor Strichartz to compute Eigenvalues and Eigenfunctions of a Laplacian operator for functions defined over the fractals known as “Thick Carpets”. “Thick Carpets” are generalizations of the Sirepinski Carpet where the number and size of the hole removed on each iteration in the construction is allowed to vary. All computations were done in Matlab and we studied lists of eigenvalues for patterns. This was a largely “experimental” math project.
